Online Digital Journal Web Class Preparation


1.      Digital Journal Access: You must create an online account and login to access the PDS Web Class Digital Journals used for your class type:
 

a.      For Digital Journal account set up, refer to the Instruction Sheet that you downloaded during self-registration or that was emailed to you by PDS after you registered by phone. If you did not download the instruction sheet or lost the emailed instructions, you can request a copy UP TO ONE DAY BEFORE YOUR CLASS by calling PDS at
1-800-775-3220 Ext 1 M-F 9AM - 5PM


b.     Using the class link and access code provided in those instructions, you will create your Digital Journal Access

2.      Complete the reading and exercises on pages 2 through 6 in the Readiness To Change digital journal BEFORE the day of the PDS Web Class BUT DO NOT SUBMIT/UPLOAD UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY THE CLASS FACILITATORDO NOT WORK ANY FURTHER IN THE JOURNALS.
 You will receive further instructions for using the digital journal during your PDS Web Class.

3.      If you have trouble reading or writing, please let PDS know before the Web Class date so we can give you more instructions.

4.      You must have your digital journals open on your computer or tablet to do the Web Class and must have completed the required pre-class work in the Readiness To Change journal. If you do not have the digital journals accessible and/or have not completed the pre-class work, you will be required to reschedule and will be subject to a reset fee.

 

Additional Web Class Preparations:

1.      The PDS Web Class uses Zoom and requires an internet connected computer, tablet or smart phone with camera and microphone available at the time of the Web Class. On class day, you might prefer to use the Zoom app on a smartphone while using your computer or tablet for the digital journals.

 

2.      You will be meeting a class Facilitator and other Participants live, online with sound and video so a quiet place without any disruption will be mandatory for successful participation and completion.

 

3.      Participants are expected to give their full attention to the class and not engage in other activities. All are expected to act as one would when attending a class or professional meeting held in person.

 

4.      Class Participants will discuss information of a confidential nature. You are asked to participate from a location that is quiet and separate from others. If you are unable to be away from others in your home, please use a headset or earbuds so that no one else overhears the class discussion and to reduce outside noise.

 

5.       You and the referring agency will both receive a Certificate of Completion after you have completed all of these requirements.
